Renae Skipworth

My career started as a part time employee in administration with a leading South Australian food manufacturer. During this time I studied towards my business and accounting qualifications. Once I competed by Diploma of Business Studies and was in the final stages of my Advanced Diploma of Accountancy, I started in my first role as a trainee accountant in a mid tier accounting firm.

This lead to eight continuous years working in a range of Adelaide accounting firms ranging from a sole practitioner in the country to a mid tier firm in the tax compliance / small business advisory area. I completed by Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) at the University of South Australia, on a part time basis while working full time.

I have worked with and on a diverse range of clients including professionals, primary producers, manufacturers, retailers, builders and contractors, ranging in annual turnover from fifty thousand dollars with one employee to an over ten million turnover with eighty employees.

My career progressed from a trainee accountant to a business advisory services manager. During this time it confirmed my passion to work closely with clients at their premises assisting with operational issues.

I’ve identified there is a gap in the market between SME’s and their Tax Agents / Business Advisors clients are finding it difficult to fill. The gap due to a general skill shortage of quality accountants in the industry and secondly some SME’s were at a in-between point where they are too small to employ a full time accountant, although their business is big enough that they need this service available. Businesses require a professional to assist them to produce timely and accurate reports to make informed financial decisions.

After eight successful years in the profession I made the decision to leave professional practice and start up my own SME to consult to other SME’s requiring the services of an Accountant and Business Consultant.

My goal is to pursue my passion, which is spending more time out working with and helping small business to achieve financial results, develop systems and efficiencies, support roles, training on accounting systems, improve understanding / reliability of financial reports, as well as establish a work / life balance.

Allowing me to work with you, it will become clear that I am a passionate and professional about my clients, an enthusiastic and honest person, who is attentive to details and has an excellent work ethic.
